Jordan Plews

MD

Dr. Jordan Plews is a molecular biologist and biochemical engineer whose career has been defined by a transition from high-stakes pharmaceutical research to the cutting edge of “bio-cosmetics.” A dual citizen of the UK and the US, he began his professional journey at Pfizer, where he worked on monoclonal antibody treatments. However, he quickly realized that traditional medicine often focused on masking symptoms rather than fixing cellular damage. This realization led him back to University College London, where he earned a doctorate in stem cell research, specifically focusing on the then-radical science of “reprogramming” old adult cells back into a youthful, embryonic-like state.

Dr. Plews is the scientist who bridged the gap between Stanford University’s intensive cardiovascular research and the luxury skincare market. After years of studying how stem cells could repair failing hearts and lungs, he noticed a recurring problem: living cells are notoriously difficult to keep stable outside of a lab. He shifted his focus to “exosomes”—the microscopic messenger bubbles that cells use to communicate—realizing they could deliver the same regenerative “instructions” to the skin without the complications of live cell therapy. As the co-founder of ELEVAI Labs, he has effectively commercialized “cellular de-aging,” moving beyond simple moisturizers to create biotech solutions that aim to mimic the body’s natural, youthful healing process.
