Dr. Duncan Ross is a pioneering scientist in the field of regenerative medicine, specializing in the development and application of exosome-based therapies. His journey into this realm began with a deeply personal motivation: his father’s diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. Determined to find a cure, Dr. Ross pursued advanced studies, earning a Ph.D. in Immunology and Biochemistry from the University of Miami. His doctoral research focused on understanding mechanisms to suppress graft-versus-host disease in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
In 2012, Dr. Ross founded Kimera Labs, Inc., a leading company in mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) exosome production and isolation. Under his leadership, Kimera Labs has developed proprietary methods for isolating and characterizing exosomes derived from perinatal cells and amniotic fluid, advancing the field of cell-free regenerative therapies. Dr. Ross’s innovative work has been featured in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, including Blood and Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
