Dr. Chris Dougherty is a dual board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. With an extensive clinical focus on shoulder disorders, Dr. Dougherty provides expert care for osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tears, instability, and complex soft tissue injuries. He currently maintains an active practice in Northwest Arkansas, serving patients at Northwest Medical Center, Precision Surgical Center, and Ozark Community Hospital.
Dr. Dougherty earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, followed by a residency at Oklahoma State University and a specialized fellowship at Kentucky Sports Medicine. A Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, he is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Dougherty is a dedicated researcher and educator. He serves as an editorial reviewer for several prestigious medical journals and has published and presented his work on orthopedic innovation nationwide. As a survivor of both cancer and heart failure, Dr. Dougherty brings a unique, patient-centered perspective to his practice. His personal health journey has fueled a specialized research interest in recovery from erectile dysfunction, a field in which he has conducted extensive experimentation and is currently preparing to present new findings.
