Dr. Adam J. Katz, MD, FACS is a renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a pioneer in the field of regenerative medicine, specializing in adipose-derived stem cell (ASC) therapies. He is a Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and serves as the Director of the Plastic Surgery Research Laboratory. Dr. Katz also holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Katz earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh. During his time at Pittsburgh, he conducted groundbreaking research on the isolation and application of ASCs, leading to several patents and publications that have significantly advanced the field of regenerative medicine. Notably, he co-founded the International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science (IFATS), a multidisciplinary society dedicated to the development of new technologies derived from adipose tissue.
